Hackensack Fire Headquarters
Built and first occupied in 1974, Hackensack Fire Headquarters located at 205 State Street houses the office of the Chief of Department, the Administrative Section, Bureau of Fire Prevention, Training Division, Information Management, Fire Communications, and Police & Fire Signal Systems Repair and Maintenance.
It also serves as home for Engine Co.4, Ladder Co. 1, Rescue Co. 1 well as Car 311 operated by the Deputy Chief Platoon Commanders who supervise the on duty fire suppression shifts.
Apparatus assigned to Headquarters respond to all full first alarm assignments in the city. In 1999, Engine 4 responded to 1,826 alarms, Ladder 1 responded to 1,451 alarms, Rescue 1 responded to 2,031 alarms and Car 311 responded to 1,598 alarms.
Additional Special Units located at Fire Headquarters are the Bergen County Support Services Air Supply / Mask Service Unit and the Mid Bergen Mutual Aid Hazzardous Materials Response Unit.
