ENGINE CO. 5

Looking like a firehouse that belongs in California or the American south west, Engine 5's quarters which is located at 784 Main Street was built in 1924 to provide fire protection to the residents of the "Fairmount Section", which is the north end of Hackensack.
In addition to the large residential area this company covers, they also are "first due" at the Riverside Square Mall, part of Fairleigh Dickinson University including the Rothmann Center as well as Route 4, a main artery into New York City.
In 1999 Engine 5 responded to 1,452 alarms.
